Since its opening by Sheikh Rashid and Queen Elizabeth 2nd in 1979, the 37 storey iconic office tower of the Dubai World Trade Centre on Sheikh Zayed Road [see], has been instrumental in establishing Dubai's position as the global financial and commercial hub of the Middle East and Arabian Gulf region.

Since 1979, DWTC facilities at this location have greatly expanded. They now comprise the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre [ DICEC], next door, which can accommodate 6,500; the Convention Tower office building highly convenient on-site accommodation at the Novotel and Ibis Hotels and serviced accommodation at the Dubai International Hotel Apartments.

Plus, of course, there are a string of high class skyscraper hotels and apartment blocks on both sides of Sheikh Zayed Road near the DWTC complex. So there is ample high quality accommodation nearby.

The DWTC also manages Dubai Airport Expo Centre adjacent to the international airport on the Deira side of Dubai Creek. This provides additional exhibition and meeting space.

Dubai World Trade Centre has a vision to make Dubai the world's leading destination for all major exhibitions, conferences and events. It has evolved from being the forerunner in the burgeoning exhibitions industry into a multi-dimensional business catalyst, focusing on Events, Venues and Real Estate or Property Management.

DWTC is able to provide so many added-value services as well. These involve matters as diverse as:- Advertising, Media, Engineering and even Wedding Organising.

However, Dubai's main expertise is HOSPITALITY!! Dubai is renowned for this. It is greatly appreciated by all business people away from home.

Apart from this, Dubai's heady mix of luxury 5 star holiday accommodation in a hot sunny location; high class, duty-free shopping in colossal malls and a tax-free business environment,..... is highly attractive to entrepreneurs from across the world!! What can be more conducive to good business?

These factors are also highly attractive to tourists. It is claimed that Dubai now attracts more tourists than India; more shipping than Singapore and more foreign capital than many European countries. Dubai is absolutely booming!!

With the growing Dubai International Financial Centre [The Gate] and Business Bay developing a short distance along Sheikh Zayed Road and Burj Dubai, the world's tallest building, mushrooming daily next to the Trade Centre, it is clear that Dubai is certainly going to achieve its ambition of becoming a leading global financial and business centre.

Since Dubai is international in outlook; sophisticated in business; cosmopolitan in nature; and highly efficient in service, it has the right attitude to achieve success!!

Located at the cross-roads of Asia, Africa and Europe and near the mouth of the oil-rich Arabian Gulf, it is also ideally placed to take full advantage of its strategic position.

By the way, if you want to know what the Dubai World Trade Centre tower looks like, you'll find it on the back of an AED 100 bank-note!! That signifies its importance to the economy of Dubai!!
